ARKADYA is a sustainable scented candle company here in the UK. They came to us to help tell their story and connect with their customers online.
The first step was to understand everything we could about who they were, what they made and importantly why they did what they did. We understood that they were a small team dedicated to creating luxurious yet guilt-free products for people here in the UK, with a focus on sustainable, vegan and cruelty-free materials throughout.
Once we understood this we created the brand ARKADYA, referencing the Greek province of Arcadia which symbolised humanity's harmony with nature. We created a story that reinforced the company’s commitment to the environment as well as offering their customers the opportunity to “ESCAPE THE DAY”, away from their everyday lives and particularly out of the concrete jungles that many of us have been confined to during lockdown.
Once we decided on the name, we created the distinct monochromatic colour scheme, focusing on luxury, simplicity and transparency as a company.
With the brand created, we then needed to translate that to the screen. ARKADYA needed a means to reach their customers as well as a means to sell and manage their products. The first part of this was their own online store.
We designed and built their store rapidly, going online in a matter of weeks. The store was optimised to ensure that customers understood who ARKADYA were and what they stood for. The store was also designed to provide optimal customer experience to view the products and then order the candles either as one-off purchases as well as having the option to subscribe to fortnightly or monthly delivery, in as few steps as possible in order to maximise conversions.
With the site live, we then needed to make sure that customers could find them and communicate with them.
Due to the visual nature of the business we focused on Instagram above other social media platforms. So we set up the account first and foremost and then began to curate the look and feel of the page to attract ARKADYA’s target market.
Once customers arrived on the page we then worked with the ARKADYA team on how to communicate with their customers and how to convert those visitors to paying customers.
With our strategy in place, Instagram leads now account for over half of all ARKADYA’s sales.
With ARKADYA’s digital platform and presence established, we could support them in maintaining their site and their social media moving forward so that they could focus on what they do best which is making beautiful handmade and sustainable scented candles.
